ABOUT AS
Your horse’s wellbeing has always been our mission.
Founded over thirty years ago in Asti thanks to the vision of the Peiretti family, Mangimificio Il Palazzetto has transformed the family’s agricultural heritage into cutting-edge nutritional expertise.
Our independent production process gives us complete control: we personally select the finest raw materials from our long-standing local partners and monitor every stage of the manufacturing process within our factory.
This direct management of the supply chain, from the selection of the grain to the finished product, enables us to guarantee uncompromising consistency in quality. Because for us, the horse has always been our sole focus.
We regard nutrition as the key to solving real-world problems, forging an unbreakable bond between the feed mill and the veterinary world.
We are convinced that only the synergy between owner, trainer and vet can form a team capable of overcoming any challenge.
DEDICATED PRODUCTION PROCESSES
The value of a tailor-made transformation
At the heart of our facility are in-house flaking and pelletising lines, enabling us to monitor every stage of the production process constantly and rigorously.
The type of processing depends on the specific nutritional objective: maintaining the animal’s physiological functions, optimising foal growth and providing support for physical activity of varying intensity, as well as treating and managing nutritional disorders.
Together with our experts, we tailor each process to the specific characteristics of the raw material, as every cereal requires a dedicated treatment to preserve its nutritional value.
This excellence is complemented by the addition of vitamin complexes, salts and trace elements formulated by world leaders in the sector, ensuring precise and balanced concentrations to meet the horse’s actual needs.
Whole grains
When fed in this form, cereals take a relatively long time to digest, and for some of them, absorption never reaches optimal levels. The use of whole pulses is strongly discouraged due to the presence of anti-nutritional factors.

Pelletising
Pelleting is a process to which flours are subjected in order to produce a compact product (pellets) that is easier for horses to consume. We use a low-temperature pellet mill that relies solely on pressure to preserve the optimal nutritional value. All the raw materials used in our feed can be processed into flours and subjected to the pelleting process.

Flaking
This process involves steaming cereals and pulses.
The whole grains are placed in a cooker where steam at 118°C is introduced for a cooking time ranging from 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the type of material being processed. Once cooked, the grains are subjected to mechanical pressure (rolling) and then moved on to the final stage of air drying; in this way, they can be stored in silos.
This cooking process allows the starches contained in the cereals to be dextrinised, reducing the time taken for assimilation and improving the digestibility of the products.
Legumes subjected to this process completely lose their anti-nutritional substances, allowing the excellent nutritional components to be utilised.
